Introduction:
Lenalidomide is used to treat various types of cancers. It works by slowing or stopping the growth of cancer cells. It is also used to treat anemia in patients with certain blood/bone marrow disorders (myelodysplastic syndromes-MDS). Lenalidomide may lessen the need for blood transfusions.Instructions:
Lenalidomide comes in tablet form and is taken orally. The tablets should be swallowed whole with water and needs to be taken on an empty stomach either one hour before or two hours after food. Lenalidomide can be taken at any time of the day but it is best to take it at approximately the same time each day.Side Effects:
- Black, tarry stools.
- Blood in the urine or stools.
- Chest pain or tightness.
- Decreased urine.
- Difficult or labored breathing.
- Increased thirst. irregular heartbeat.
- Mood changes.
